First it was the Demented Chicken (Musarrat, where's my story?!). Then it was the Deranged Chipmunk, and then the Delusional Chimpanzee. Now, ladies and gentlemen, my blog name is the Discombobulated Chihuahua. (Go look it up. That's what the dictionary is for!)
Anyway I had two LONGGGGGG days in school, yesterday and today. And jamming tonight with 7t3! Nic and WP couldn't make it, but had fun with Mel, Lincoln and Minnie. Mel was doing weird impersonations of men with too-tight underwear and singing in very high pitches. LOL.
Tag replies: Minnie and Mel, linked you both =) (How come no one else tags anymore? Maybe no one reads my blog... all scared away by Genesis)
Anyway (again) I have a new form class next year. (Sob 4E5 '09!!!!!!!) But I know my new form class, and I am hoping they will be happy to get me as form teacher, so. :) Here's to a good new year with them, and with my EL and Lit classes. And with the Harmonica Band, of which I am now a teacher IC! Omytian, I am looking forward to 2010.
(but to my favourite class, my first loves, 4E5 '09, I will miss you always. You will always be in my heart.)
Ok, ok, it's been a long time since I last posted. But that was because there were prelims, and then there was intensive revision, and then there were O Levels...
But now the O Levels are over and it seems as though everything is changing very very fast. We had Graduation Night the other night for the Sec 4s, and Reach! is on Saturday... and then it'll be next year and another whole round of this to come...
I am so tired whenever I go home now I just fall asleep until the next morning. And then when the weekend comes there are so many other things to do like go to church, do choir things, do Pervy Boy things. Not counting spending time with family, which I haven't done in a while... I feel like I haven't seen my parents in ages even though we live in the same house.
You all want to grow up? Enjoy what you have first, because it won't last.
You have got to watch this. It made me crack up and roll on the ground laughing.
In other news, yesterday I:
1) learnt how to play Bm on the guitar without hopping to 7th fret (thanks Joshua!);
2) made sickly-sweet trifle at Ai Poh's house, with help from Lihui, Yanwei and Aipoh my turbo stirrer;
3) wrote a song about Ai Poh's house, called "Ai Poh's House" (how original);
4) had to find my way to the MRT from Ai Poh's house with Yanwei who was totally unhelpful but very entertaining;
5) ate Ai Poh's tom yam soup, peeled prawns with Yanwei, played guitar with Minnie, pinched Mel for poking me all the time, slapped Yewliang also for poking me all the time, wandered around the wine & liquor section in Giant with Lincoln, Eugene, Yewliang and Lihui (but we didn't buy anything! We only bought very safe, non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice that didn't sparkle and which Yanwei, Lihui, Ai Poh and I quietly finished in the kitchen HO HO).
I had fun yesterday. Now to work, and to pray for 4E5 and hope they are all studying (yes, Minnie, I'm looking at YOU).
The other day Weijie said something that made me think. He asked why all my blog posts were emo (no lor! 2 only!) and then he said, why not tell someone? And I replied that there were few, if any, people I trust with my thoughts nowadays. And that made me wonder, is it really better to keep everything to myself? Because I want to spare other people the additional burden of worrying about me? I don't want other people to worry about me, but maybe I need to give them the choice first.

In other news, 4E5 is first up for the O Level English Oral tomorrow. I think they'll be fine. Am expecting at least 7 A1s, and I think there may be more, but I just hope they will do their best and not stress out. (Also hope will not get sent to fill in for someone else - am on replacement duty - if I don't get sent away, I can do the 2E oral and then wait for them to finish.)
In other other news, I have many things to do and not enough brain cells to complete the tasks, so I am watching silly music videos on Youtube to help my creativity. =)
into a grey sky morning now I'm here to stay love can be so boring
nothing's quite the same now I just say your name now
but it's not so bad you're only the best I ever had
====
Some other time, I will explain the complex relationships I have with 4E5. I was determining this over lunch with Melvyn, Hema and Hiang Teck the other day. Melvyn is my kitty cat. Meow.

You don't need me back You're just the best I ever had
It may take some time to patch me up inside But I can't take it so I run away and hide And I may find in time that you were always right You were always right
Uh. Happy new year, everyone. I think. Today was a long day - well actually it wasn't that long, but it felt long because of the interminably long session in the hall, made worse by people who didn't want to keep quiet and listen to Mr Su. I was listening to his explanations of the offences and wondering why the person committing the offence was almost always named Tom. Especially the raping and outraging modesty offences. As usual people got very excited at the definition of rape (as though they don't know how sex works), and irritated Mr Su all the more cos they kept talking and talking, so he had to stop and scold people often.
=======
I don't like scolding people, actually. I told 4E5 today that it's because I don't like wasting my energy, but that's not entirely true. I don't like scolding people because I myself don't like to be scolded, especially when I have been trying my best. Which is why I generally don't scold people. But then sometimes I have to tell people things they don't like hearing, and I don't like that either. Sigh. Why must the form teacher be the harbinger of ill tidings and aggrievances?
Oh, but 4E5, how I have missed you. It is completely bizarre, but as I stood there this morning at the front of the class, listening to the same people making the same noise (AHEM... Nicholas), somewhere in the back of my mind, I finally felt back to normal again. The holidays were interminably long and incredibly boring, and I realised today that it's because I missed my students. All my students, all the Sec 3s, and some of the other Sec 4s and 5s who say hello to me, but I mainly missed 4E5. So sad, right? Sad and pathetic-sounding, like I have no life except to love my students. But I do love them.
=======
One of the reasons I felt so upset at the end of today's programme was the stark reality of time. This is my first "new year" at Yuhua. My next "new year", my Sec 4s (my 40 darlings) will be gone. Maybe I really am lame and pathetic, but I am horribly sad at the thought, because 4E5 is my first form class, the first one I don't have to share with someone else, my first as a full-fledged teacher. And like all first loves, they have a special place in my heart.
=======
OMG SO EMO! *chills* Oh yes, by the way, I wanted to thank some people: 1) Xinhui for the lovely present - it's so pretty! Thank you! 2) Hema and Boon Hock - my "party planners" aka class chairpersons :) thanks for taking on the responsibility (which was pretty much shoved on you by your evil classmates) 3) Li Kuang, Jocelyn and Minnie for shouldering last year's burdens lol.
Oh and AHHH. Today I walked past someone, and he looked at me like he wasn't sure whether to smile or not, so I smiled, then he realised I was smiling and he smiled hesitantly - OMG. I fail at communication. Sigh. Back to being antisocial and having people think I'm mad (which I am).
